After completing the Rhinoplasty procedure, most patients are able to return home immediately to rest. Hospitalization is generally not required; however, it is essential to monitor your condition as follows:

7 Days After Rhinoplasty

Peak Swelling: The nose will experience significant swelling during the first 2–4 days, which will then gradually subside within one week.
Bruising: Bruising may appear around the eyes and cheeks.
Surgical Site Pain: You may feel pain or soreness at the incision site.
Nasal Tightness: A feeling of tightness or tension in the nose is common.
Itching: You may experience an itching sensation around the surgical wound.
Nasal Discharge: Some runny nose or nasal discharge may occur.
Minor Bleeding: Slight blood seepage from the wound is possible.
Low-Grade Fever: A mild fever may occur during the first 1–2 days.
Loss of Appetite: A temporary decrease in appetite is common during the initial recovery.

1 Month After Rhinoplasty

Residual Swelling: Some swelling may still persist.
Fading Bruises: Minor bruising may remain, specifically around the tip of the nose and under the eyes.
Visible Results: The new shape of the nose will be clearly visible, though it has not yet reached its final 100% result.
Nasal Bridge and Tip Tightness: You may still feel a sense of tightness along the bridge and at the tip of the nose.
Numbness: A numb sensation at the tip of the nose is normal at this stage.
Clear Nasal Discharge: Clear nasal discharge may occasionally flow from the nostrils.
Wound Scabbing: The surgical wound will begin to form scabs as part of the natural healing process.

2 Months After Rhinoplasty

Noticeable reduction in swelling: Swelling will have decreased significantly, though the tip may remain slightly swollen.
Improving numbness: Numbness in the nose, nasal tip, and upper lip will gradually resolve.
Disappearing bruises: Any bruising should be completely gone; however, if any remains, it is advisable to consult your surgeon.
Nasal firmness: The nose may still feel somewhat firm but will continue to soften over time.
Shaping: The nose will begin to settle into its desired shape.

3–4 Months After Rhinoplasty

Substantial swelling reduction: Swelling will have subsided substantially, with only minor traces remaining at the tip and bridge.
Persistent numbness: You may still feel some numbness at the nasal tip and surrounding skin, which will continue to improve.
Scar visibility: Surgical scars may still be visible but will gradually fade over time.
Tissue recovery: Some tightness may persist as the internal tissues continue to recover.
Minor seepage: Slight blood seepage from the incision may occur; this is normal and will resolve on its own.

6 Months After Rhinoplasty

Resolved swelling: Any residual swelling will have vanished, and the nose will have fully settled into its final, clear result.
Mild numbness: Minor numbness may still be present, which is normal and typically resolves within 6–12 months.
Lingering tightness: A slight sense of tightness may remain but will continue to improve.
Subtle changes: Minor adjustments in the nose's shape may still occur as it fully heals.
Scar maturation: Internal scars will be invisible, and any external scars (if present) will continue to fade.

Abnormal Symptoms: When to See a Doctor Immediately

If you experience any of the following symptoms, please consult a doctor immediately, as they may indicate a nasal infection:

Persistent or increasing swelling: Swelling that does not subside after 14 days post-rhinoplasty and continues to worsen.
Abnormal discharge: Lymphatic fluid or blood flowing from inside the nose or the surgical wound.
Inflammation: Redness, swelling, and pain in the area of the nose surgery.
Skin discoloration: The skin around the surgical area turning black.
